Best Travel Coffee Gear Of 2026

Before you shamefully down a sachet of instant coffee into a camp cup we're going to show you the best travel coffee gear to take with you on all your adventures, from mountain tops to out on the road no matter where you are there's no excuse for sh*t coffee.

In this article we cover:

Best Travel Grinders

VSSL Java Grinders

Grinding your coffee fresh is one of those things that just can't be replaced, the moment you ground your coffee beans you start to instantly loose flavours and aromatics to your coffee beans. When choosing a grinder to accompany you on your journey it's important to find a solid unit that can grind coffee to a precise grind size, is durable enough to withstand being thrown around and in the outdoors, is lightweight enough and of course isn't too expensive.

The VSSL Java grinders are just that, we stock 3 grinders from their range: VSSL Java Coffee Grinder, VSSL Java G25 Coffee Grinder and the VSSL Java G45 Coffee Hand Grinder. The VSSL Java Coffee Grinder is the most compact grinder while the G25 is slightly bigger to accomodate for a larger coffee catch cup and the G45 even bigger than the G45 grinder, capable of holding 45g of ground coffee.

Best Travel Coffee Drippers

Miir Pourigami Travel Dripper

When it comes to making coffee in the outdoors there's always going to be 'that guy' who wants to brew a pour over, the Miir Pourigami Dripper packs down into 3 pieces of metal and is literally smaller than my wallet. This travel coffee dripper is very easy easy to install, simply clip and tuck the edges into each other to form a triangular shaped coffee dripper.
Unsurprisingly, this dripper actually makes pretty tasty coffee! Add your small 01 / 1 cup cone coffee filter paper to the dripper and brew just like a regular pour over dripper, the only massive difference is that instead of pouring in circles you will find yourself pouring in a bendy triangular shape. But for something that is literally smaller than my own wallet I'm not complaining.

Timemore Crystal Eye B75 Dripper

When it comes to brewing coffee with a dripper you don't want a dripper with a detachable base, Yes, the Origami drippers are beautiful but they aren't very practical or the most balanced option to make pour over coffee. The reason why I bring this up is because the Timemore Crystal Eye Dripper is a coffee brewer and has a base built into the one unit, making it easier and less tricky to use.

This dripper is a great option for brewing 1-2 cups of coffee at a time and uses smaller 155 wave style filters to make coffee.

AeroPress Go Coffee Maker

AeroPress have been around for years and they've been the go-to portable coffee maker for campers, hikers and outdoorsmen. The AeroPress Go Coffee Maker is a recent addition to the AeroPress family, with a slightly smaller build everything can pack down into a coffee cup with a silicone lid.

The AeroPress Go comes with a range of accessories included and all up weighs only 320g. Making it a lightweight complete coffee system.

Best Travel Pour Over accessories

Hario V60 Drip assist pour over coffee dripper accessories Basic Barista Brew Gear

HARIO V60 Drip Assist

Brewing a (good) pour over coffee without a gooseneck kettle is near impossible, you really need control and precision that a gooseneck kettle offers. But when you're out and about, bringing a gooseneck kettle along with you isn't always practical.

This is where the HARIO V60 Drip Assist comes in, it's essentially a lid that sits on top of your dripper, with two sets of holes for different speed of flow. The inner set of holes pour water fast while the outer set have a much slower flow rate.

So that's how this works but how does this help us to make better coffee without a gooseneck kettle? The drip assist doesn't change height and it has a fixed flow rate from both sets of holes, this arguably makes it more consistent than using a pour over gooseneck kettle anyways and completly negates the need for a gooseneck kettle in the first place!

Best Travel Espresso Makers

Wacaco Picopresso Portable handheld espresso machine Basic Barista coffee gear

Wacaco Picopresso

We love the Wacaco Picopresso, it's compact (seriously, this coffee machine can fit in the palm of your hand) and is capable of making double shots of espresso. Featuring a naked basket and all the accessories you need to distribute, tamp, clean and pull tasty shots.

Often I choose to use the Wacaco Picopresso over my home coffee machine as it only takes as long as my kettle to heat up. I don't have to wait for an espresso machine to heat up, so much quicker when I just want espresso and don't need to steam milk!

A noteworthy accessory to consider when looking at the Picopresso is the Wacaco Picopresso Pressure Gauge, this is an adaptor that sits in between the body of the Picopresso and the coffee basket and it shows a live display of your pressure you're extracting your espresso at.
You might be wondering why this is important and it's for two very valid reasons, the first is that you brewing at too high of a pressure will damage the internals of your coffee maker and by brewing at a pressure that is below 18 bars you know you're not causing any damage. the other reason is that by using a pressure gauge you can delve into pressure profiling, pre infusion and controlling another dimension of brewing espresso!

Wacaco Pixapresso

The Wacaco Pixapresso is Wacaco's newest and first compact, electric portable espresso maker, designed for espresso enthusiasts who refuse to compromise on convenience, no matter where you are.

With its sleek, intuitive display, the Pixapresso allows you to effortlessly control key brewing settings like hot water temperature and pre-infusion, putting the power of barista-level customisation right at your fingertips.

Whether you’re brewing with fresh ground coffee using the adjustable basket or enjoying the convenience of coffee capsules, Pixapresso tailors every cup to your exact preferences. Perfect for home, office, or outdoor adventures, it delivers an exceptional espresso experience anytime, anywhere catering to both casual drinkers and discerning coffee connoisseurs alike.

Flair NEO Flex

Make Espresso on the go with the Flair NEO Flex, a completly manual espresso machine that pulls shots of tasty espresso with the pull of a lever. What makes the Flair NEO Flex different is it's use with two brew head portafilters (Flow-Control and Bottomless), this means you can either brew with pre ground coarser coffee with the flow-control or dial in your coffee exactly how you want it with the bottomless portafilter.

The Flair NEO Flex makes espresso approachable, whether you’re brewing your first shot or experimenting with pressure profiling. The flow-control basket removes all the guesswork, while the bottomless option gives you a clear window into your extraction. Compact, intuitive, and surprisingly capable, it’s an ideal first step into the world of manual espresso and a rewarding companion long after you’ve mastered it.

Basic Barista Pocket Scale

Weighing up to 500g you can accurately weigh doses of coffee beans, espresso yields and a light pour over set up. The biggest drawback for these scales is they don't time, now days everyone has a watch or phone to keep time so if this isn't a problem for you, save on money and keep these as a back up!
