Here at Basic Barista we have a deep connection and long lasting relationship with Origami. Since the Origami Dripper was used during the World Brewers Cup competition in 2019 it has only grown in popularity.
Origami Drippers are available in a range of colours and materials the Origami Dripper is versatile and can be used to brew with both conical coffee filters and flat bottom coffee filters.

    CONE FILTER

    When brewing with conical filters, the Origami dripper will push the filter into the centre and all for water to bypass the coffee bed and fall directly into the coffee. Due to the increased bypass you are able to achieve a much faster flow rate and in-turn allows you to grind your coffee finer and extract higher.

    WAVE FILTERS

    Brewing Origami drippers with a wave filter will allow the folds of the coffee filter to wrap around the Origami drippers folds and once wet, create a seal between the dripper walls and the filter paper.
    This creates a much slower draw down and overall less bypass in your coffee, creating a fuller bodied coffee.
