The Origami Rework Dripper represents something genuinely exciting in specialty coffee gear, performance-driven design combined with real, measurable sustainability.

As the first release in Origami’s new Rework Project, this dripper uses 20% recycled Mino-yaki porcelain, reclaiming material normally discarded during production and transforming it into a fully functional, competition-level coffee brewer.

This isn’t a 'greenwashed' version of an existing product.
It’s the same iconic Origami brewing performance, just more responsible and arguably even more beautiful.

Why This Dripper Is Special

The Rework project keeps everything that made the original Origami dripper a global favourite:

  • 20 precision ribs for fast, controlled flow
  • Compatible with both Origami and V60-style filters
  • Extremely versatile brew control (fast or slow flow depending on filter choice)

But adds:

  • 20% recycled porcelain from crushed production waste
  • Unglazed matte finish with natural mineral shimmer
  • Slightly larger hand-formed profile (a few mm difference, fully compatible)

The result is a dripper that feels earthy, raw and premium all at the same time.

Brew Performance - Why Baristas Love Origami

The signature 20-rib structure is what makes Origami brewers so unique. These ribs create natural air channels between the filter and the dripper, helping to prevent stalling during pours while allowing you to brew with either aggressive or very gentle pouring styles.
This design also means the dripper works exceptionally well with multiple filter types, letting you change flow rate and extraction characteristics depending on your preference.
In the cup, this translates to cleaner, higher-clarity brews when paired with Origami wave filters, or more body and texture when using the Origami Cone filters, giving you huge recipe flexibility overall. If you enjoy experimenting with brew profiles and dialing in different coffees, this is one of the most adaptable drippers you can own.

Recycled Porcelain - The Rework Project

Instead of discarding crushed ceramic waste during production, Origami now reintegrates it back into new drippers.

Because ceramic doesn’t naturally break down like organic materials, this matters.
You’re not just buying coffee gear, you’re supporting:

  • Reduced raw clay consumption
  • Lower ceramic waste
  • Longer lifecycle manufacturing

And unlike recycled plastics, this doesn’t compromise durability or heat stability within the coffee brewer.

Origami Rework Aesthetic & Build Quality

The Origami Rework Dripper features an intentionally unglazed matte finish, you'll notice a subtle shimmer from crushed porcelain particles, a softer more natural look and slight texture variation. Each piece is unique with it's own slight colour variation.

Overall the Origami Reworks Dripper feels closer to traditional Mino ware craftsmanship than mass-produced ceramics.

    CONE FILTERS

When brewing with conical filters, the Origami dripper will push the filter into the centre and all for water to bypass the coffee bed and fall directly into the coffee. Due to the increased bypass you are able to achieve a much faster flow rate and in-turn allows you to grind your coffee finer and extract higher.

    WAVE FILTERS

Brewing Origami drippers with a wave filter will allow the folds of the coffee filter to wrap around the Origami drippers folds and once wet, create a seal between the dripper walls and the filter paper.
This creates a much slower draw down and overall less bypass in your coffee, creating a fuller bodied coffee.
