Varia VS6 Coffee Grinder
Varia VS6 Coffee Grinder
Varia’s most recent prosumer grinder is designed for coffee enthusiasts who demand precision and versatility. With its interchangeable burrs, variable speed motor and zero retention design, the Varia VS6 is a standout choice both for serious home brewers and professional baristas alike.
Engineered with convenience and performance in mind, the VS6 delivers a superior grinding experience for various brewing methods.
Versatility and Precision
The Varia VS6 allows for an easy switch between the factory-fitted 58mm flat burrs and optional upgrade 63mm conical burrs, offering a worlds-first flexibility to suit different grinding needs. The internal adjustment system makes swapping burrs a breeze without the need for recalibration, ensuring consistent performance every time.
With variable RPM control ranging from 500 to 1600 RPM, you can fine-tune the grinding speed to achieve the perfect grind distribution for your specific brewing method.
Innovative Design and Functionality
Equipped with active static ionisation needles, the VS6 reduces static in the chute and ensures a cleaner grind. The removable dosing chute and spring-loaded knocker also simplify the cleaning process and help dislodge any residual grounds. The grinder's 76.5-degree sloped architecture enhances its zero retention focus, minimising waste and maximising efficiency.
Effortless Usability
The VS6 is designed for ease of use with a multifunctional power ON/OFF button that also controls the RPM. The intuitive display shows the RPM in 100RPM increments, allowing for precise adjustments. Safety is prioritised with the automatic (magnetic) power cut-off system, which disables the motor when the hopper is removed.
The removable lid and single dose feed collar add to the grinder's convenience, making it suitable for both low and high-volume environments.

STOP MESSY GRINDING WITH RDT
Ross Droplet Technique 'RDT' refers to adding a small amount of water to your coffee beans prior to grinding. This additional moisture helps to reduce static build up in your coffee grinder and can drastically reduce the amount of mess while grinding coffee beans.

ELECTRIC VS HAND GRINDER?
Electric coffee grinders are quick and easy to use and make grinding espresso particularly easy. Hand grinders on the other hand are slower and demand more work.
But generally speaking a hand grinder that is the same price as an electric grinder will tend to perform better. This is because anything electronic and requires a motor will increase the cost of the final product. -
GRIND SIZE DISTRIBUTION
Grind size distribution refers to the range and consistency of particle sizes produced when your coffee is ground. A 'uniform grind size distribution' ensures that all particles are similar in size, leading to an even extraction and cleaner tasting coffee. Variations in grind size distribution can make your coffee taste muddy as some particle are extracting more than others.

CONICAL VS FLAT BURRS
Conical burrs offer efficient & low-heat grinding, making them ideal for home use and are commonly found in hand grinders. Flat burrs generally provide a more uniform grind size and are commonly used in electric coffee grinders, flat burrs are favoured by professionals for their precision and consistency particularly when grinding on finer grind sizes.

SPECIALIST OR GENERALIST
While some grinders can produce a range of different grind sizes it is important to know that they may not be the best quality of grind size. Depending on what types of coffee you're wanting to make, you may want to consider opting for a 'espresso grinder' or a 'filter grinder' rather than an 'all-rounder coffee grinder'
