Introducing the much loved Origami Dripper, Made in Japan from high quality Glazed Mino-Yaki Porcelin this dripper is as versatile as its counterpart pour over brewers with a couple exceptions.
The Origami Dripper has a folded 60º conical shape, this means that you can comfortably fit both cone shaped such as Hario V60 Filters & flat bottom wave filters such as Kalita Wave Filter papers. When using cone shaped filters a gap is left in between the indentations of the dripper, promoting more air flow and less resistance when brewing or for a higher contact area use the Kalita-wave filters to hug the folds and leave less of a gap when brewing.
The Origami dripper is available in both a S/M Size. The S-Size is the equivalent to an 01 Hario V60 dripper while the M-Size is the equivalent size as the 02 Hario V60 drippers.
Origami Dripper Ring:
The Origami Dripper ring holds the dripper in place over your vessel/Mug, this is optional and the Origami can fit into some brewing stands as well. But we highly recommend purchasing a Ring as it ensures the Origami Dripper is perfectly level for every brew.

2 Ways to brew with Origami:
The Origami Dripper can utilise both conical as well as flat bottom filters, this means that the Origami is actually a 2 in 1 coffee dripper.
The main difference between using flat bottom filters and cone filters is the amount of bypass water when brewing.
Bypass is water that misses the coffee grounds and is funnelled down one of the gaps on the edge of the coffee dripper. Cone filters will sit up from the edges of the Origami dripper and have an increased brew time due to the higher bypass where as brewing flat bottom filters such as the Kalita Wave Filters the draw down will be slower and have less overall bypass.

CONE FILTERS
Conical FiltersWhen brewing with conical filters, the Origami dripper will push the filter into the centre and all for water to bypass the coffee bed and fall directly into the coffee. Due to the increased bypass you are able to achieve a much faster flow rate and in-turn allows you to grind your coffee finer and extract higher.

WAVE FILTERS
Wave FiltersBrewing Origami drippers with a wave filter will allow the folds of the coffee filter to wrap around the Origami drippers folds and once wet, create a seal between the dripper walls and the filter paper.
This creates a much slower draw down and overall less bypass in your coffee, creating a fuller bodied coffee.
