The Timemore B75 Crystal Eye Dripper has been gaining a lot of attention in the coffee community and for good reason. It combines the flat-bottom style of brewers like the Kalita Wave and Orea dripper with Timemore’s unique 'crystal eye' design, giving brewers a forgiving, consistent, and affordable way to make tasty pour-over coffee.
What Makes the Timemore B75 Dripper Unique?
The Timemore B75 is a unique flat-bottom brewer that can achieve comparable results to drippers 3 times the price.
The base of the B75 are 10 holes set out in a triangular shape, these help to regulate flow rate and prevents clogging, giving a consistent drawdown even if you're brewing a difficult coffee.
The Crystal eye ridges guide water evenly through the coffee bed, reducing channeling and making the brewer very forgiving. when brewing with 155 or small waved sized filters the folds of the filter perfectly fit into these ridges and hold the filter paper in place.
Many home brewers and baristas find the B75 easier to use than V60-style drippers since it allows for more consistent brews and less chance of clogging.
How the B75 Compares to Other Drippers?
Crystal Eye vs HARIO V60
The HARIO V60 is a conical coffee dripper, making it more sensitive to pouring style and grind consistency. The B75’s flat bottom means you’ll get fewer bitter or sour results from mistakes, making it more beginner-friendly. Due to the difference in shape of these brewers the B75 dripper is much narrower at the top making it ideal for 1-2 cups of coffee where as the HARIO V60 can accomodate more water in each pour.
Crystal Eye vs OREA
While the B75 and OREA drippers are very similar in shape, the B75 has a slightly slower flow rate, making cups slightly brighter and less 'heavy'. The smooth walls of the OREA dripper offer a different approach to how the filter interacts with the wall of the brewer.
Crystal Eye vs Origami Dripper
The Origami Dripper allows for multiple filter types and different flow dynamics, but the B75 is simpler and cheaper while still giving clarity. The other most noticeable difference has to do with workflow, the Origami Dripper requires the Origami Ring to sit on top of a carafe / cup. This can make the dripper a little less stable to hold and move around, particularly when in a cafe environment.
The general consensus among coffee enthusiasts is that the B75 punches well above its weight, delivering clean, balanced cups at a fraction of the price of more premium drippers.

Tips for Brewing on the B75
- Grind slightly finer than you would for a Kalita Wave Dripper, the faster flow rate benefits from a bit more resistance.
- Swirl instead of stirring, a gentle swirl helps settle the bed and ensures even extraction.
- Use light–medium roasts, the B75 excels with coffees where you want clarity and nuance in your cup.
Who Is the Timemore B75 For?
Beginner Home Brewers
If you’re new to pour over brewing, the Timemore B75 is one of the most forgiving drippers you can start with. Unlike conical brewers such as the V60, which can be very sensitive to grind size and pouring technique, the B75 flat-bottom design and multiple drainage holes allow for a more consistent extraction. This means you don’t have to stress too much about pouring from an even height, even small mistakes won’t ruin your cup. It gives new brewers the confidence to experiment while still enjoying delicious, balanced filter coffee.
Travellers
The B75 is also an excellent choice for coffee lovers on the go. It's lightweight, durable construction makes it easy to pack into a travel kit, and the fact that it uses widely available Kalita 155 filters means you won’t struggle to find papers wherever you end up.
Whether you’re brewing in a hotel, at a campsite, or visiting friends, the B75 delivers reliable results without adding unnecessary bulk to your bag. I love how you can easily fit 10-20 paper filters snug inside the dripper whilst travelling, they don't protrude too far and won't take up any additional room in your pack.
Experienced Brewers
Even for seasoned home brewers or professional baristas, the Timemore B75 is worth having in the arsenal. Its affordable price point makes it a low-risk addition, yet the performance rivals much more expensive drippers. Experienced brewers will appreciate the slightly faster flow rate compared to the Kalita Wave, which can bring out brighter notes and greater clarity in lighter roasts. The B75 can serve as a dependable daily brewer, a secondary option for variety, or even a tool for recipe development when testing coffees across different devices.
It’s not as demanding as a V60, not as pricey as an Origami, but still delivers cups that stand up to much more expensive brewers.
The Timemore B75 Crystal Eye Dripper is one of the best value pour over brewers available today. It’s consistent, forgiving, and delivers clear, flavourful cups that highlight what flat-bottom drippers do best.
