TikTok is a haven for creative and sometimes unusual coffee recipes that capture the imagination of millions. So we decided to find our favourite coffee recipes on TikTok and create real life recipes you can use to make this drinks yourself.
Here are four viral coffee recipes that have taken social media by storm, for better or worse!
Dalgona Coffee
Dalgona Coffee, the original quarantine sensation, is a whipped coffee drink that's as Instagramable as it is delicious.
Made by whipping instant coffee, sugar, and hot water until frothy, it's then served over milk, creating a beautiful layered effect.
The result is a sweet, creamy, and oh so fluffy treat that is guaranteed to get views.
Did we mention that once you've made dalgona coffee you can actually freeze it to create a Dalgona Ice cream? Just make sure to freeze it before you add the milk!
You Will Need:
- 2 tbsp instant coffee
- 2 tbsp white sugar
- 2 tbsp hot water 90ºc
- 1 cup milk
- Ice (optional)
Recipe:
- Combine 2 tbsp instant coffee and equal parts sugar, and 2 tbsp hot water in a bowl.
- Whisk vigorously until the mixture becomes thick and frothy.
- Pour milk into a glass and Ice (optional) and spoon the whipped dalgona coffee on top.
- Stir before drinking, or enjoy the layered look.
Spring Onion Latte
This unusual recipe, popularised in China, involves adding chopped spring onions to an iced latte.
The result is a drink that offers a silky texture with an unfortunate crunchy bite. While it might not be everyone’s cup of coffee, it’s a testament to the adventurous spirit of coffee lovers willing to try something new.
This drink comes with a big warning, this is an acquired taste and just like the comments on TikTok some love this and others find the idea of onion coffee revolting!
You Will Need:
- 1 shot of espresso
- 1 cup milk
- 2-3 spring onions, finely chopped (green part only)
- Ice cubes
Recipe:
- Pull a shot of espresso.
- Fill a glass with ice cubes and pour the milk over it.
- Add the espresso shot on top of the milk.
- Top with chopped spring onions for a surprising twist, make sure to only add the green parts of the scallion.
Oleato
Oleato, or olive oil coffee, was made famous by Starbucks as part of its Oleato series. This recipe combines high quality extra virgin olive oil with espresso, resulting in a smooth, velvety texture that adds a rich mouthfeel to the coffee. The olive oil enhances the coffee's natural flavours while providing a healthy fat boost.
You Will Need:
- 1 shot of espresso
- 1 tsp extra virgin olive oil
- Milk or water (optional)
Recipe:
- Brew a shot of espresso.
- Stir in the olive oil until well combined.
- Optionally, add milk or water to dilute and enjoy the rich, smooth texture.
Strawberry Iced Matcha Latte

Perfect for summer, this recipe involves layering strawberry syrup, milk, and matcha to create a visually striking beverage. The combination of flavours makes it a hit among matcha lovers and those looking for a colourful and flavourful filled drink.
You Will Need:
- 1 tsp matcha powder
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tbsp strawberry syrup
- Ice cubes
Recipe:
- Mix matcha powder with a little hot water to make a smooth paste.
- Fill a glass with ice and pour in the milk.
- Add the strawberry syrup on top of the milk.
- Gently pour the matcha on top to create layers.

BIG M Latte - Strawberry Milk Coffee
We recently made a Strawberry Milk Big M Latte!
And... it as amazing! All we did was swap out normal cows milk with strawberry Big M, textured and used it just like normal milk.
The Big M Milk acted just like normal milk and the result was amazing, it was super sweet, creamy and tasted like strawberries.
