The Red Clix features an ultra-fine precision thread on both the axle and the grind adjustment dial. Compared to the original threads, this upgrade provides Comandante users with twice as many clicks. Imagine this: if you typically dial in 10 clicks on your Comandante grinder for your brewing process, with the Red Clix, you'll find yourself dealing in a whopping 20 clicks to get to the same position.

Why is this significant? The additional clicks offered by the Red Clix give you twice the amount of range that your grinder can reach, this means that dialling in espresso or perfecting your pour over coffee can be much more easily achieved. 

What is Red Clix:

Red Clix is Comandante's solution to reaching finer grind size adjustments, particularly for grinding coffee for espresso you may find that between 2 clicks has too much variance in size. By adding an additional step increases your range, essentially hacking and doubling the amount of clicks and grind sizes your Comandante Grinder can grind on.

How Does Red Clix work?

The Comandante Red Clix Kit is comprised of two parts, a replacement Axle and grind size adjustment piece. The traditional axle unfortunately can't be used with the Red Clix adjustment dial, this is because of a different screw size used on the Red Clix Kit. 

Does the Red Clix work on the Trailmaster X25

Yes, we reached out to Comandante and they said the the Comandante X25 Trailmaster is compatible with the Red Clix adaptor kit. In fact the Red Clix axle is compatible with all Comandante models after the MK2.

Can I just purchase the adjustment piece?

Unfortunately not, the Grind size adjustment piece has a different screw size that matches the red clix axle. This is a different screw size from the traditional Axle and adjustment piece found on the stock standard Comandante.

Is the Red Clix Adaptor Kit worth it?

We found a very easy answer to this question, If you are finding it challenging to dial in your coffee on the traditional grind sizes on the Comandante then yes, the Comandante Red Clix Kit will alleviate this issue. 

If you don't have this issue, this is because of 2 reasons. The first is that you aren't as picky and the second is that the grind sizes offer enough adjustment for the coffee you are brewing. There is nothing wrong with either of these situations, simply put 'no point fixing something that isn't broken'.
